Welcome to the exciting world of Jiu-Jitsu at Modern Warrior Academy! Our kids’ class is a fun, safe, and positive place for your child to learn awesome new skills, make friends, and build confidence. We mix games, drills, and fundamental techniques from Judo, Wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to create a complete and engaging martial art experience.

Unlike martial arts that focus on punching and kicking, Jiu-Jitsu is all about using clever moves to control an opponent, teaching them how to grapple, control, and submit opponents, even in real-life self-defense situations. Our classes are designed to be fun, active, and safe, helping every child learn at their own pace.

  • Warm-Ups & Mobility Drills:
    Prepare the body for dynamic movement.
  • Takedowns & Throws:
    Kids learn important skills from Judo and wrestling to move with control.
  • Positional Control & Escapes :
    Understand leverage to maintain or reverse control.
  • Submissions & Joint Locks:
    Master chokes, arm locks, and leg locks.
  • Live Sparring & Rolling:
    Apply techniques in real-time scenarios.
  • Self-Defense Applications:
    Learn how to get away from tricky situations and stay safe.

About the Instructor

Your instructor, Cody Osborn, brings over a decade of experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and both freestyle and collegiate-style wrestling. Passionate about blending grappling disciplines, Cody integrates wrestling techniques into Jiu-Jitsu instruction to provide practical, effective self-defense skills.
