Sasha Tadayoni Wins at Kunlun Fight 107: Canada Takes the Decision in China
Sasha Tadayoni Wins at Kunlun Fight 107: Canada Takes the Decision in China
Our Chief Trainer travelled to China, stepped into the Kunlun Fight ring against home favourite An Ran, went through a scorecard draw and an extension round — and came out with his hand raised. Full fight video below.
The Result: Draw on the Cards, Then Sasha Takes the Extra Round
On July 25, 2026, Chief Trainer Sasha Tadayoni of Modern Warrior Academy in New Westminster fought Chinese kickboxer An Ran (安然) at Kunlun Fight 107 in Tongling, China. Representing Canada on a card broadcast live across China, Sasha went the full three rounds against a dangerous knockout artist fighting in front of his home crowd.
When the scheduled rounds ended, the arena screen showed a draw on the judges’ scorecards — so the fight went to an extension round under Kunlun Fight rules. That extra round is exactly where preparation and conditioning show. Sasha kept pressing, kept scoring, and when it was over, the referee raised his hand. The big screen said one word: WINNER.

Kickboxing — Kunlun Fight (KLF)
What happened right after the announcement says as much about Sasha as the win itself: he knelt and bowed to the ring. Respect for the opponent, respect for the sport, respect for the stage. That is the standard we teach — and it travels.

The Opponent: An Ran, “The Blade of Chang’an”
This was not a soft matchup. An Ran — nicknamed “长安刀客” (the Blade of Chang’an) — is a Kunlun Fight signed fighter out of the Zhuangge fight team in Wuhan, and Chinese fight media have followed him for years as one of the promotion’s sharpest finishers. His recent Kunlun Fight run, as reported by Chinese outlets, includes:
- A second-round KO of South Korea’s Nam Myeong-cheon at Kunlun Fight 104 in July 2025
- A second-round TKO of Jahongir Jurayev at the Kunlun Fight Zaozhuang special event
- A nine-minute war against Thailand’s Frankke in May 2026 — fighting on with a cut and never backing down
Beating a finisher like that in his home country, on the judges’ cards, after an extension round, is the kind of win that only comes from a complete fight camp: conditioning, composure, and a game plan carried out under pressure.
About Kunlun Fight 107
Kunlun Fight (昆仑决) is one of Asia’s biggest professional kickboxing promotions, founded in Beijing in 2014 and broadcast across China. Kunlun Fight 107 took place at Beidou Star City in Tongling, Anhui province, on July 25, 2026, with fighters from ten countries on the card — China, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Canada, Morocco, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan.
The same night featured Kunlun Fight’s current 61 kg world champion Saliman Aobulihairi against Brazil’s Gabriel, and hometown intercontinental champion Zhang Run in the headline bout. Sasha’s invitation to this card came directly from Kunlun Fight leadership — the story we covered when the bout was announced in our Chief Trainer spotlight: Representing Canada at Kunlun Fight.
The Same Coach Who Won in China Teaches in New Westminster
Sasha Tadayoni is not a name on a wall at Modern Warrior — he is the Chief Trainer who runs classes on our floor every week. He brings more than 30 years of martial arts training across Kyokushin karate, boxing, Muay Thai, Dutch kickboxing, wrestling, and jiu-jitsu, with competition experience in Japan’s RISE promotion and now a win on China’s biggest kickboxing stage.
I am coming to win and showcase what growth I have made. Thank you to everyone who continues to believe in me. Osu. Sasha Tadayoni, before the fight
He said he was coming to win. Then he did it — the hard way, through an extra round, in the other fighter’s home country. For our students, the lesson is simple: preparation is not a slogan. It is early mornings, honest sparring, and showing up when the scorecards say “draw” and there are three more minutes to fight.
The extension round went to the fighter with more left in the tank. That engine is built in training, long before fight night.
A hostile crowd, a knockout artist, a draw on the cards — and no panic. Calm under pressure is a trained skill.
Win with humility. Sasha bowed to the ring before he celebrated. That is dojo culture at the highest level.
Why this matters if you train with us: the person holding pads for you and correcting your stance in New Westminster just proved his coaching at the highest level of the sport. You do not need to be a fighter to benefit from that — the same fundamentals that won in China are what beginners learn in their first month.
