Boxing Classes FAQ

No. Our boxing program welcomes complete beginners. The Beginners & Intermediate class with Coach Jason and the Boxing Fitness & Fundamentals class with Coach Keith are both designed for people with no prior experience. You will learn proper stance, basic punches, and defence from your very first session.

Wear comfortable athletic clothing and bring a water bottle. Hand wraps and gloves are helpful if you have them, but the gym can provide equipment for trial classes. After your first session, coaches will advise on gear for ongoing training.

No. Sparring is optional and only available in the advanced and competitive classes. You can train boxing at Modern Warrior purely for fitness and technique without ever sparring. If you decide to spar, it is always supervised and introduced gradually when you and your coach agree you are ready.

The lunchtime Boxing Fitness & Fundamentals class with Coach Keith focuses on high-energy conditioning blended with core boxing mechanics — ideal for fitness-oriented training.
